Taking a contemporary approach to making decorative tassels. Juxtaposing the themes of architecture and nature found around Hampton Court Palace with Sea Life. With an experimental approach towards drawing where jellyfish (natures tassels) like structures are created in mixed media. Stickle covered corals and bristly anemones become tassel fringing, whilst flower buds and ceiling roses become tassel head.
Unconventional ways of cording, braiding and wrapping are used to recreate textures. Along with a three-dimensional spin to embroidery, inspired by macrame knotting using buttonhole stitch, being used to build structures.
